South Fourteenth Street from South Orange Avenue to Avon Avenue. Edward Keogh was awarded a contract to fill in the swampy area. The contract called for 26,000 cubic yards of filling, over 38,000 yards were paid for and no one knows how many thousands more were actually used. It is said that Edward Keogh lost his entire fortune filling in the bog. You can locate this area from the information above on the 1904 map.
