The statue of Seth Boyden stands near the north end of Washington Park. It honors the first man to make patent leather and malleable iron. The standing bronze figure shows the inventor alongside an anvil and resting on a hammer. The inscription is simply "Seth Boyden, Inventor." It was dedicated May 13, 1890.
