The Washington Memorial stands in the southeast corner of Washington Park. It was sculpted by J. Massy Rhind. Total height 22 feet above ground level, including mound of a height of 7 feet and a granite pedestal of a height of 3 feet. The bronze figure represents Gen. Washington standing by his horse, taking formal leave of his soldiers at Rocky Hill. It was a gift bequest from Amos H. Van Horn and unveiled on November 2, 1912.
